Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Peace in the Middle East is a global focus among governments. But the divinely inspired Word of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob declares that the
vigorously sought after peace will never be achieved until the end of the Conflict. I recently listened to programming of the American Center for Law and Justice…being telecast from Jerusalem. ACLJ is doing a super job raising awareness of the plight of Israel amidst the ongoing turmoil of the entire Middle East. The problems are REAL. The threats to Israel are real! The complaints of the Palestinians are justified…from their points of view. And in the realm of man a two-state nation seems fair. Thus, some Christians are fearful that President Obama may be leaning towards siding for fairness for all and not siding with Israel in their claims of sovereign ownership over the land assigned to them by God. Also, both Jew and Gentile Christians hold sacred the portions of scripture that promises blessing to those who side with Israel and cursing for those who do not. But for all the points of the issue needing consideration, the following point is likely the most significant. These dilemmas were foretold centuries ago by legitimate prophets of God and will come to pass.
In this current generation, we are seeing, for the first time, the aligning of world conditions and powers who could be the participants in Jacob’s Trouble. Both the major and minor prophets speak of the ongoing conflict between the offspring of Jacob(Israel) and Esau(Edom). Much, if not most, of the present day conflict is recorded in the books of Genesis, Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, books of the minor prophets, Matthew 24/25, and Revelations. We are experiencing world-shaking events happening today which were foretold centuries ago. No political party will change the outcome of the Conflict foreseen by God and foretold by the prophets. There are no surprises anywhere….in any of it.
The conflict continues and will only escalate and not end until the Second Coming of the Prince of Peace who is the stone cut out without hands in Daniel 2:35 . ‘Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.‘ God rules over Israel’s conflict and over her safety. Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. 8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: 10Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. 11 For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.17For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after 19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. 24 The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.’
The subject of the middle eastern conflict is too broad to be explained or to be understood apart from Divine revelation of scripture. The war between Jacob and Esau is explained by ‘For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph 6:12.’ It has existed from the Beginning and will conclude at the End. To believe mere politics can sway its outcome is to not understand the origin and magnitude of the Conflict. Canaan is both real and a type of New Jerusalem….the natural to reveal the spiritual….the seen to explain the unseen. The resolution of the Conflict is outside the power of man. Israel’s hope, defense, and victory comes through the Prince of Peace who rides the white horse of Revelations 19:11-16.
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.’
Oh my!!! Come one people!!! If God be for them who can be against them??? God can be trusted to fulfil His promises to His chosen Israel!!! Too, He can be trusted to dispense recompense against Esau…when the time for recompense comes at His return. Do we dare believe a man can turn God’s purposes declared in scripture and given to us by the prophets? No! But God does rule in the kingdom of men and sets over it the basest of men (Daniel 4:17). We don’t elect rulers! God sets them in seats of power to accomplish His will…His purposes. Man’s dominion is only possible in Christ. Outside of the presence of Christ, man has no power..no authority…no rule.
So right!
Let us however never stop praying for Israel for God to bless them and keep them. After all they are God’s chosen people. This way we join in the production and not just another spectator.
Blessings to you!

Blessings to you, too, Mikes. You are so right. Prayers for Israel is so needed. My continuous prayer on their behalf is ‘Father, thy will be done.’ We ‘know’ the end for Israel is peace at the hands of the Prince of Peace…..at His return.
‘Thanks for the response.
