Elias remains the only forerunner of the Messiah. At the First Coming of Christ to Earth, John the Baptist was in the ’spirit and power of Elias.’ Elias is now, from his place in the City of God, crying forth the very REAL announcement seen in parable form in Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Elias trusts God with his very life (1 Kings 17th chaper). He loves the Father and the Son. And his appointed office of forerunner of the Messiah will be complete at the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior….. Jesus Christ. Meantime, both he and Moses hold a special place at the throne of God (Zec. 4:14 ‘Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth’).
No recorded Biblical history is more beautiful than that of Elijah (Elias) and his relationship with God. God chose Elijah because He foreknew Elijah’s faithfulness and TRUST in the sovereign God. God’s purposes for him run all the way through the span of time to the Second Coming of Christ. Elijah, also known as Elias (I prefer to call him Elias) is a major player in the First and Second Coming of Messiah. Three years ago, Elias came to me during the daytime, while I was wide awake, and audibly cried,
| Matthew 3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight |
I want you to see the heart and beauty of this man, this faithful friend of God and His Christ, this faithful servant, and his connection with us in our generation. During this time of warfare and economic turmoil all over the world, we Christians have tremendous opportunity to shine forth the Light of God into the darkness of the days. Where fear is rampant, we Christians should sing forth the news, by our actions and not our words, that God rules and reigns…..and that He holds all things under His sovereign control….even rulers…..even the darkness of days. I love the record of Nebuchadnezzar whom God put out to graze grass with the critters of the fields until such time that he understood the rule of God in all things….especially the things of His very own creation….the kingdom of man.
As we are seeing investments, retirement, and general material security melt away, there is no reason for fear! God is the source of our security! He is faithful. As Daniel in the den of lions, as the Hebrew children in the fiery furnace, as Joseph in Egypt, as the hundreds of thousands of Christians from the beginning of time……God is present with us….both in death and in Life. For me there is incredible consolation and peace knowing that nothing will come to my experience that God will not handle for me. Remember how David proclaimed,’the battle is the Lord’s?” David met Goliath with only a sling….not a sword. He ‘knew’ God would slay Goliath. And God will be given the glory. Two verses from Revelations that likely relate to our generatioon….spark great fear in the hearts of many Christians. But fear is not of God. Fear is for the faithless.
| Re 13:16 | And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: |
| Re 13:17 | And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. |
As we trust God through faith as the Redeemer of our very soul…..is He not to be trusted with the physical things also? Oh, yes! I say….YES! Before the culmination of these dark days…the Anti-Christ will, by God’s permission, rule in the kingdom of men (See Daniel…vision of the Image of a Man…worldly governments and their destruction by God). He will spew his hatred of God by attempting to destroy the children of God. In those darkest of times, God will again feed manna to the needy. He will supernaturally sustain them from dangers….or He will take them to where He is. He and we all are victors. The ‘wilderness’ is the place of Divine Protection in God. The following two verses reveal God’s faithfulness in the safeguarding of His people as spiritual warfare rages…..whether it be economic collapse, invading armies, hunger, disease….or worst scenerio, that Satan would attempt to take us into eternal Death with him.
| Re 12:6 | And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. |
I hope I am here to see…..and I believe we are near the fullness of Jacobs Trouble…the tribulation period. I would like to hear Moses and Elias ( two witnesses in Revelations 11:3) as they preach the Gospel of the Kingdom to those of Israel who, generations ago were given ‘ears so they couldn’t hear and eyes so they couldn’t see…until this day’….according to God’s plans. The rulers of Israel are still looking for Elias’s coming before Messiah. By the time these two EMPOWERED men of God complete their testimony, die, resurrect, and ascend…just as Christ did….the remnant of the spiritually deafened and blinded covenant people, along with the seven thousand (means the actual number is left to God) who were left to come by Grace, as well as the grafted-in Gentile believers…….all who are of the faith of Abraham, will be drawn up to meet Christ in the air ‘and so shall we ever be with the Lord.’ Would you tell me, please…what need is there to fear???? Fear is not Faith! Moses and Elias both were men of flesh. God reveals Himself to man. That very ‘revelation’ is the foundation of Christ’s church.
In Matthew chapter 16: 15-18…God tells Peter, paraphrased, ‘Peter, you ‘know’ (knowledge conceived/internalized/believed) that I am the Christ. My Father gave you that knowledge. And because the Father and I are one and know all things, I ‘know’ that you are Peter. So Peter, on the foundation of spirit to Spirit fellowship…I will build my church and it will be exactly as I have purposed…righteous and eternal!’ WOW! WOW! WOW! Who doesn’t want to be part of that. All one has to do is BELIEVE GOD…..like Elias, Moses, and thousands of others throughout time. That’s a fair deal! Isn’t it?
