Many interpretations of ‘faith’ are voiced regularly. Webster says faith is, ‘a belief in the value, truth, or trustworthiness of someone or something.’ Why, then, since many of us mortals openly profess a belief in creator God…..do we find Faith such a hard thing. Since we truly believe God is the creator of all things, is above all things, and giver of redemption through Christ…..why do we find Faith in Him so hard? We find it hard to believe and practice ‘faith’ because some religious traditions teach us to trust the Grace ……..but not the giver of Grace…..the Father.
To have FAITH, one must BELIEVE that God is and believe His revealed WORD. Our Simple Faith in Him unlocks the door for HIS will to be performed through us. When this Simple Faith lives inside the heart, one is become a Temple of God…one little ‘fleshly stone’ comprising Christ’s church……one little body part comprising the Body of Christ……..to the glory of the Head who purchased it with His blood.
MY PRAYER…..Thank you God for revealing yourself so completely to us by your Word and through your Holy Spirit. I trust you, Father. I believe you when you said, “ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” For me, the substance of things hoped for, is that I might return to you the Love you so abundantly have given me in Christ. The evidence of things not seen, is my rock-solid belief that you will accept it.
Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Matt 6:26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (Whoa!)
Hebrews the eleventh chapter, of course, the ‘faith’ chapter is full of glorious evidence of outcomes of simple faith.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Heb. 11:3
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him . Heb. 11:5 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. Heb. 11:32-
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
| Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. |
SIMPLE FAITH should come easily in one who died the second death in our place!
